It go BOOM!

So I was on the bridge at the corner of 6 and rock prairie when I heard this boom. It sounded like a car backfiring. Then it happened again. ... boom, but I didn't see any late model cars around me that would be doing that. So I drive through the light and get in the left turn lane.... louder it came... BooM. 3 or 4 times. Not in any kind of rapid succession or rhythmic beat. I turn to go into a teller at the bank BOOM... Now I notice the CSFD and several flashy lights near the bank. So I opted to go into CVS to get some cash... BOOOOM - not deafening but definitely LOUD. This guy slows down in a truck next to me and says.."Do you hear that?" I said "yea.." he said "It sounds like (hesitating).." I say "Gun shots?" His eyes get huge "YEA". So now I am envisioning some burnt orange wearing psycho on top of the bank and I scurry into CVS. Now mind you, I am thinking this through.... I never hear recoil, shattering glass, or any of the normal sounds associated with the bad side of the gunshot. I make my transaction in CVS and casually ask "um... What's that noise outside?"

ITS BIRD CONTROL. They are trying to deter the Grackles by shooting a canon (not the good kind with autofocus) And I thought I was going to get to be on FOX news describing the mayhem... "Well Dan, there was a loud gun shot... then another..."
