In my household we do not stock a bunch of RX drugs anymore. The ones from over the counter are what we usually keep, with one or two antibiotics, some dermabond and phenergan. For those of you who are not versed in phenergan, it is an antiemetic (can keep you from throwing up constantly). It comes in a pill, a shot or a suppository. We have it in suppository form because it is the fastest most effective method to admister the drug (besides IV).
So I had a telephone conversation like this the other day.
"Hi Tracy it is Bill" (names changed to protect the innocent)
"Hey whats up?"
Insert 1 minute of chit chat
"Do you have any Phenergan?"
"Yea - but I will have to call SuperDave cuz I am not allowed to hand out RX meds without his knowledge"
"I was told to take half of one tonight and another half tomorrow"
Okay - the visual I was having was almost way too much for me.
"HUH?!?!"
"I am going deep sea fishing tomorrow and the captain told me to take half a phenergan today and half tomorrow morning."
"Um Bill - I only have it in a suppository."
Silence on line...
"I guess I will try dramamine."
"Good man - and we NEVER had this conversation!"

ROFL, I wish you could see me laughing because I totally know "Bill" and because I actually ran into him at Kroger shopping for said Dramamine and I am soooooo glad I did not know this story at the time! LOL HA HA HA
You know thier was a Myth Busters where they tested out sea sickness remedies, and the only one that worked as well as dramamine...drama....you knwo what i'm saying....anyways it was Ginger pills. you should get your sea fairing friend to try it.
