SWA, ATA & KIM

So I got an email from Southwest Airlines (SWA) a week ago saying that ATA went out of business and they were going to have to make OTHER arrangements for our trip to Hawaii but NOT to call before April 8th because they were trying to deal with people that were stranded. People were actually showing up to the airport and there was no one at the gate, the signs were down and they were stuck in Timbucktwoville, USA.

My wonderful husband jumped on the internet and searched for new fights, etc. It was going to cost a tremendous amount of money for us to get there. I told my husband,,,, Wait. We have WAY too much going on to stress over this. Lets see what SWA does and we will roll with the punches. Being a woman I had plans B-H ready.

So the evening of the 7th I get a phone call from KIM with SWA. She was double checking my itinerary to see what they could do. I told her I could leave from Austin, Houston, Dallas or San Antonio. She said "You just made my day." She called me back about an hour later and all my flights had been made, except instead of leaving out of San Antonio like we originally were going to do, we were going to HAVE to leave out of IAH - in Houston. Well, OKAY... I guess I can cut two hours off my drive time and leave out of there.

SWA ROCKS!

You were probably the first person to be flexible instead of flat rude to her! Good for you... and better for her. When do you head out???????????????
