Fireman's Pole Update

Being the ever bargain hunter I am, I am buying a USED 24 foot fireman's pole for the house. I am SOOOOOO excited. Just think, brave men and women have slid down this thing for decades to rush to rescue save people and to respond to call like the kid trapped in the car or to the 3 alarm fire at GoldenTrail! The Brass will already have that tarnished/polished look to it. I am so excited to be able to put "homey" elements in this new place so it has more character than house from acme. Besides a used fireman's pole I am also getting the antique crystal door knobs from David's grandmother's house, the glass chandelers from the same house and a clawfoot bathtub for the master bath. Makes the place more interesting I think. Now I need to find a "bell" to hang next to the pole so we can ring it before we slide down - I want a medium brass looking on. I can't decide on a regular looking bell or one of the circle ones with a hammer. Decisions, Decisions, decisions.

Thank you, thank you for that link to my exciting story!! :o)
How very cool! My son will definately need a visit to your house to try out that pole! Sounds like your house will be such a neat, fun HOME! I'm sure we will all want to tour an Open House when it is complete!

That's the neatest thing I ever heard to put in a house. Good idea for if we ever build a house. How on earth did you manage to get one anyway?

Hi,
I fell upon your blog while doing a google search for "fireman's pole, house." I've always wanted one for my house, hence the reason I googled it!! If you could let me know how you managed to obtain one, please let me know!

Thanks you,
