My eldest came to me with this question today... "Mom, Why don't I rodeo anymore?!?!"
ME: HUH - What do you mean ANYMORE?? When have you ever rodeoed?
ELD: Remember - the Ty Murrey Invitational that I rode in?
ME: Ow (brain hurt trying to recall an obscure moment in time)

ELD: I really liked it.
Then I remembered it all. We lived in Albuqueque and had a whole group of friends who were big into rodeo. John begged me to ride the bulls so I signed him up for mutten bustin. I figured once he fell off that he would decide it wasn't worth the pain. He was barely 3 years old. He got on that sheep and it took off out of that gate like a bullet. Running like a mad animal. John held on for about 30 yards then ate dirt. He got up, dusted off, walked up to his Dad and asked which bull would he get to ride??? He thought once he mastered the sheep he just got to ride a bull.. I thought he would never want to do it again. NOW he is asking me ...
Why don't I rodeo anymore?
No wonder I am losing my mind. I can't even answer the simple questions like, where are my socks? and now he throws the "why don't I rodeo anymore" at me....
Also I don't think I will ever make Matt's sidebar unless I put some cowboy stuff on my blog.

Bull riding is close to my heart. My uncle raised bulls until his death a few years ago. Now his 2 boys have taken over the business. They are in small town Cache, OK and their bulls participate in the PBR (Professional Bull Riding)circuit. They travel all over the USA. Rafter 7r bulls are highly respected among bull riders. I've grown up going to rodeo's and love it. My family (Todd and kids), not so much. The bull riding makes me nervous, but it's my favorite!
I dated, married and divorced a bull rider...lets say I don't have many good things to say on that marriage but....I still love the sport and love the atmosphere. I actually miss it sometimes.
Ike could wrangle anything out of a chute, I think:) Maybe that would keep him from trying to sled down the stairs on the disk shaped laundry basket cover.
